Projects: Digital save the date cards

Most people communicate digitally these days through Facebook, text messages, email, twitter, etc. So, some clients like to save money on their Save the Date cards and send it via email to their guests. It’s also a good idea to do it digitally if you have family and friends that doesn’t live close by and need to make travel arrangements as soon as possible. Here are some designs I did for my clients.

Heather and Jason did post and hand deliver printed Save the Dates for their South African guests, but they sent digital cards to their overseas guests.

Sandra&Wouter-trou
Sandra and Wouter planned their wedding in a short time. So, to save some time they sent out digital Save the Dates to their guests. This gave their guests enough time to start booking accommodation.

R&G_OnthouDieDatum_medres
Rena and Gert decided to send digital Save the Dates to their guest and create an event page on facebook. They will send out printed invitations soon.

Project: Animal prints for a baby room

My client, Melissa, asked me to design a set of three prints for their little boy’s baby room. These prints are ideal to get framed or printed on canvas. Their baby room is decorated with chevron patterns and cute animals.

Project: P2 Engineering Consulting

I designed these simple black and white business cards and letterhead for P2 Engineering Consulting. The client works with other food processing and engineering companies and wanted to keep the designs basic and simple.

Project: Beer birthday card

A client asked me to design a 50th birthday card for her uncle. Her uncle works for South African Breweries and loves golf and beer.

Heather-BeerBirthdayCard-moodboard
I first did some research and created an inspiration moodboard for this project. The client specified that there should be bright green and orange in the card.

Then I made a few rough conceptual sketches about beer and golf and how to incorporate it in the card. After that I used the moodboard and sketches to design the card on my computer.

When the client gave final approval for the card, I packaged the design in the correct format and emailed it to her.

Packing and moving

We are in the process of moving between Durban and Johannesburg. Please forgive me if I am taking long to respond to emails and inquiries. We will hopefully be settled in our new house by the middle of May. I will still be available to work with my new and existing clients in Durban and the rest of South-Africa. We will just have to use the help of phone, email, dropbox, google drive, couriers and the post office. Thank you to all my wonderful Durban clients that have supported me the last year.

I designed and made these farewell cards for our Durban friends. In the cards I thanked them for their friendship. I also added our contact details so that they can stay in touch.

Project: Heather & Jason’s wedding invitations

Project---Heather-&-Jason---image

This weekend it’s Heather & Jason’s wedding. They planned every single detail of the wedding and I am sure that it’s going to be a fun and lovely day! I enjoyed working on their wedding stationery and they gave me a few challenges … from making pop-ups to a spinwheel for their own game. Good luck with the last preparations guys and I hope that it will be a blessed day with family and friends! I can’t wait for the wedding photos, but here are some photos of the save-the-dates, invitations and a sneak preview of the wedding programs.

Project: Paper pinwheel badges

Paper-Pinwheel---image

Instead of giving my two friends a greeting card to congratulate them on their engagement, I decided to create two fun paper pinwheel badges. You can also use pinwheels for table decorations, wall decorations, cake toppers, place cards, gift wrapping and party favours. Follow this tutorial on Style Me Pretty if you want to create your own pinwheels.

Project: Kelly and Greg’s wedding stationery

I designed and created the wedding invitations and name tags for Kelly and Greg’s wedding. The look & feel was freshness and simplicity with a touch of earthiness. The invitations were printed on recycled papers and a brown string was tied around it. This fitted perfectly with their hessian, white and royal blue wedding decor.

Kelly and Greg

Our dream for our wedding day was…
To have a relaxed, fun day without any formalities.  We wanted to have our families there and for everyone to be happy throughout the day without any stressing. We also wanted to have a small wedding so that we could spend time with everyone who means so much to us.  It was very important for me to have my best friend there and we managed to do that via Skype – there are no words to describe how much that meant to both of us.  I think we got everything we wanted for the wedding – even hot, hot weather and a bit of rain right at the end during the party.  We loved every minute of our Day and had so many compliments from everyone saying that it was the best wedding they had attended – and this was coming from the people who weren’t happy with us planning a small intimate wedding with only 18 people!
